Five Ultrasound Systems For Royal Hospital

Staff at the King Edward VII Hospital in Windsor have been so pleased with the performance of their existing ultrasound systems from Siemens, that two ACUSON Antares as well as a SONOLINE G40 have recently been installed.

The newest systems are used at the Parapet Breast Screening Unit for the full range of breast work. Lisa Bisset, Supt Radiographer, commented: “We’re delighted with the excellent resolution and flexibility of the new systems, which we’re using for breast screening assessments as well as in our symptomatic service. The systems are helping to further improve the services we provide to our patients.”

Siemens recently introduced the Acuson Antares ultrasound system, creating a common brand for its high-end ultrasound systems and providing a complete premium-performance solution, from 2D through 4D, with integrated tools for diverse clinical practices.

The G40 system combines the highest image quality, workflow advancements and colour Doppler capabilities for general imaging and obstetrics/gynaecology examinations. The compact system design offers easy transportation and manoeuvrability in all clinical environments and the integrated workstation includes a built-in CD drive for cost effective output and archiving of data.
