Wesleyan to offer specialist financial services to the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists

Wesleyan, the Birmingham-based financial services mutual for doctors, is working with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) to offer specialist financial advice and services to its members.

Through the agreement, Wesleyan’s advisers will offer RCOG members practical guidance on key financial issues including early retirement, estate planning and on the NHS Pension Scheme.

Wesleyan is also developing a suite of educational videos for the RCOG’s eLearning platform, and will be hosting a series of live webinars between June 2022 and February 2023 for members.

Alec Collie, Head of Medical at Wesleyan Group said: “We are proud to offer financial advice to RCOG Members and Fellows. RCOG plays a vital role – not just in the UK but around the world – in ensuring that all women and girls have access to high quality obstetric and gynaecological care.

“Along with its critical field work, it is committed to ensuring its Members and Fellows have access to resources to support their own personal and career development, as well as help to manage their finances.

“At Wesleyan, we are experts in the specific financial challenges facing doctors, including live issues, such as the implications of the ‘McCloud’ judgement for NHS Pension Scheme members and pension taxation challenges. We’re excited to be able to share this knowledge with RCOG’s network.”

Founded in 1929, RCOG aims to raise the profile of women’s healthcare and improve professional standards globally. Over the past 90 years, it has helped shape policies, encourage academic work and advances in science, and improve women and girls access to accurate information about their health.

Wesleyan is a specialist financial mutual founded in Birmingham in 1841, offering a range of services, including advice on savings and investments, pensions and retirement, mortgages, and insurance.
