Thermocare baby warming beds available from CMS

Central Medical Supplies Ltd (CMS), a specialist supplier of medical equipment, is the sole UK distributor for the Weyer GmbH Thermocare range of baby warming beds. The Thermocare modular standalone baby warming systems are ideal for babies requiring surveillance in an intermediate care unit.

The modular design of the Thermocare beds enable users to configure the different units available to their exact requirements. The concave form and safety side walls prevent the infant falling from the bed. All four of the side walls can be folded down, using just one hand, giving easy access for both healthcare professionals and parents. The side walls can also be configured in many ways, depending on the needs of the infant and how the unit is being used. The bed height can be easily, and smoothly, adjusted with foot operated soft-lift technology. The bed comes mounted on sturdy double castors, ensuring a stable position. In addition, one castor has a steering lock, which allows the bed to be manoeuvred easily and safely.

The base unit – Thermocare K – consists of the mobile bed with an under pad heating device that provides a thermally stable environment for babies. This model is an ideal replacement for existing under pad warming beds where there is no requirement for additional overhead radiant warmers. Thermocare C consists of the mobile bed with an overhead radiant warming system and Thermocare KCE includes both the under pad and overhead warming devices.

The Thermocare system can be enhanced with additional accessories, including monitoring shelves and storage drawers, which enables the system to be adapted for other multiple clinical tasks. This flexibility is an important aspect for healthcare professionals when selecting an infant warming system.

Tracey Pavier-Grant, medical sales director at Central Medical Supplies, says: “Thermocare K warming beds are the perfect solution when only under-heating is needed and there’s no requirement for additional overhead radiant warmers. The beds are ideal for postnatal care, resuscitation and warming therapy.”
