Whilst there is no substitute for correct technique and experience, our range of cups used in conjunction with an electric pump will help reduce cup separation.

When traction is applied obliquely causing the cup to tilt, air will rush under the cup creating an audible hiss. Temporary cessation of tractive force and the continuous suction provided by an appropriately specified electric pump compensating for minor leaks, will reduce the incidence of cup separation.

Proficiency in vacuum extraction is gained through supervision by a trained operator reviewing normal labour processes, fetal and maternal pelvic anatomy. However, training should also incorporate instruction in the types of instruments available and how the various device designs work to ensure correct instrument selection.

Instruments used with an electric pump provide the most effective and efficient method of vacuum extraction.
