Royal Devon And Exeter Wonford Hospital Installs ACUSON S2000 Ultrasound Sy

The Women’s Health Centre at the Royal Devon and Exeter Wonford Hospital has recently installed an ACUSON S2000™ ultrasound system from Siemens in its obstetrics department.

The ACUSON S2000 delivers superior imaging quality and is ergonomically designed for ease of use.

It features knowledge-based workflow drawing on a database of real clinical cases to recognise anatomical patterns and perform automatic measurements. This aids diagnosis, speeds up examinations and helps keep patient appointments on schedule.

The S2000’s syngo® Auto OB™ application is used in the automating of foetal measurements. The software can save 75% of the normal operation steps in a routine examination. Examination times are therefore quicker whilst also delivering more accurate data.

“We are finding the new system’s auto measurement features very useful, especially when an accurate measurement of a head circumference or abdomen is required,” states Dr Helen Liversedge, Associate Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Ultrasound at the Royal Devon and Exeter Wonford Hospital. “The equipment provides excellent image quality and has potential to help the department by speeding up scans and patient waiting times.”
