Book review: Your Resilient Child by Peter Walker

Author Peter Walker is a specialist in baby massage and movement. This guide, designed for anyone supporting a child’s growth from birth, presents a reader-friendly approach to Peter’s wisdom. Peter shares insights and practical tips tailored for parents and caregivers, looking at the period from conception to two and a half years of age, known as the first 1001 critical days. He aims to lay the groundwork for emotional, physical, and physiological development.

Illustrated exercises aid in comprehending the sensorimotor development process, emphasizing the profound impact of touch, massage, and movement on a child’s healthy development.

New father A. Gray reviews Your Resilient Child by Peter Walker:

Walker by name, walker by nature. As my child approaches 11 months old, Peter Walker’s book on developmental baby massage and milestone enablement has been an invaluable guide. The book has not only helped me track my child’s development but also empowered me to actively participate in her growth journey.

My baby seemed to be struggling with achieving a second sitting position, but with Peter Walker’s guidance, I was able to assist her progress using the powerful suggestions outlined in the book. Although my daughter is not yet walking, I will continue to use this resource as she develops her independence further.

My only critique would be that the illustrations could be enhanced with QR links to video examples to prevent any potential misinterpretations.

Overall, Your Resilient Child is an excellent read for any parent looking to support their child’s development.
